Understanding Tennis Elbow & Golfer’s Elbow
Golfer’s elbow and Tennis elbow are two conditions that affect many people who suffer from regular elbow pain.
Tennis elbow is known as Lateral Epicondylitis. It affects the tendons of your forearm that extend to your wrist and fingers. The pain and tenderness from tennis elbow are usually felt on the outer part of the elbow. It is caused by repeated contraction of the forearm muscles when straightening or raising your hand and wrist.
Golfer’s elbow is known as Medial Epicondylitis. It affects the forearm muscles that attach from your wrist to the inner part of your elbow.
This area is typically where people that suffer from golfer’s elbow feel pain and tenderness. It is caused by repetitive wrist flexion and twisting your palm in a downward direction.
This creates tendonitis or inflammation in the tendon on the inner part of the elbow.
Each of these conditions can develop gradually. Both can lead to severe pain that limits your movement and lifestyle. You also don’t have to play tennis or golf to suffer from these conditions.
Our treatments are highly effective at helping ease the pain of golfer’s elbow and tennis elbow.
